RISING hip-hop and Afro-pop artiste Bagga is set to launch his anticipated new album in Chitungwiza on August 29.
Born Nigel Nyagato and popularly known as Bagga WeRagga, the artiste has carved out a distinctive identity by blending hip-hop, Afro-pop, trap and dancehall into a sound that resonates with young audiences.
Raised in the ghettos of Harare, Bagga draws inspiration from everyday life, using his music to tell stories of struggle, resilience, faith and hope. His lyrics reflect the realities faced by many ordinary Zimbabweans while encouraging perseverance.
Bagga’s breakthrough came through the power of social media. Since then, he has continued to build his catalogue with projects such as the 3 Stripes EP, released in 2023, and the five-track Truth EP, which followed in 2025.
His growing discography includes songs such as Gevha, Nyarara, Mvura, Jerusalema and Nhemamusasa. The latter showcases his appreciation of Zimbabwean heritage by fusing traditional cultural influences with contemporary urban sounds.
