CELEBRATED Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) acappella Gospel group Firm Faith is set to bring its 20th anniversary celebrations to Bulawayo, with a show scheduled for December 12.

The concert forms part of the group’s nationwide tour marking two decades in the Gospel music industry. The anniversary celebrations have also extended beyond Zimbabwe’s borders, with the group taking its tour to neighbouring countries, including Zambia and South Africa.

Supporting acts for the Bulawayo show are expected to be announced in due course.

In a statement shared on social media, the group confirmed its return to the City of Kings and Queens, inviting fans to be part of the milestone celebrations.

“December 12 marks the date when Firm Faith will be live in Bulawayo, celebrating our 20th anniversary in our very own Bulawayo. So, what are the people of royalty waiting for? Make sure you are part of us and enjoy a performance fit for kings and queens,” reads the statement.

Established in Harare in 2005, Firm Faith has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s recognised Gospel acappella groups, earning a following through its rich vocal harmonies, inspirational compositions and commitment to using music as a tool for evangelism.

Under the musical direction of Marshal Matsilele, the group has remained focused on spreading the Gospel of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ through music, while building a diverse catalogue that cuts across Shona, Ndebele, Zulu and English.

Its discography includes albums such as Tinevimbo, Munenyasha, Chikristu MuAfrica, Muumbi Wehari, Whispering Hope, One Day at a Time, Amazwi Amangcwele, Inzwa Maungira, Shoko Rengirozi Nhatu and Munesimba.

The group’s fifth album, Muumbi Wehari, was launched in April 2016, followed by the 12-track Whispering Hope in 2017. It continued its musical journey with One Day at a Time, released in June 2018, before marking its 15th anniversary period with Inzwa Maungira.

In May 2022, Firm Faith announced Shoko Rengirozi Nhatu, a 15-track project, before releasing its 16-track album Munesimba in November 2024.

Beyond its recorded work, the group has also collaborated with established Gospel musicians, including Sharon Manyonganise, Peniel Tambana, Everton Mlalazi and international Gospel star Donnie McClurkin, among others.

As it celebrates 20 years in the industry, the Bulawayo concert offers local fans an opportunity to join the group in reflecting on its musical journey and the contribution it has made to Zimbabwe’s gospel music landscape.
