Bail bid thrown out

Mutedza, has lost his bid for freedom after the High Court threw out his bail application.
At the magistrate courts yesterday, Madzore’s accomplices had their application for refusal of further remand ruling set for Monday next week. Insp Mutedza was allegedly killed by MDC-T youths at Glen View 3

Shopping Centre in May this year. He had gone to the shopping centre to investigate why the youths were holding an unsanctioned meeting.
Justice Hlekani Mwayera on Thursday dismissed Madzore’s application for fear that he might abscond when granted bail. The court considered that Madzore spent months on the police wanted list and he failed to surrender himself to the police at the time he knew he was being wanted.

However, the same court ordered the release of another suspect Lovemore Taruvinga Magaya upon satisfaction that he was a proper candidate for bail. Madzore is part of the 28 MDC-T members who are being charged with murdering Inspector Petros Mutedza in May this year.
