Bail for Mangoma attacker

Senior Court Reporter
An mdc-T member Paul Gorekore accused of assaulting the party’s deputy treasurer Mr Elton Mangoma has been granted US$100 bail.
In granting him bail yesterday, magistrate Mr Tendai Mahwe said the State’s case was weak. “The court should always lean in favour of the accused person where it does not jeopardise the interest of justice. The State’s case is weak and the State did not convince the court that their case is strong. The accused person is of a fixed aboard hence he is a proper candidate for bail,” he said.

Gorekore was ordered to report once a week to his nearest police station, not to interfere with witnesses and investigations and to reside at his given address.
