MANICA Diamonds defender Farai Banda said his move from Black Rhinos was inevitable once an irresistible offer was made.

Banda said Manica Diamond are based in his hometown of Mutare where his family is and it’s special for him to be based at home.

“My move from Rhinos to Manica was a special move for me as a player after spending six years in Harare,” he said.

“When I received the offer, I had no other option.

“Manica are my hometown team. “This is where all the family is based and in most cases, you don’t think twice about moves like these. It just happens automatically.

“On the other hand, as a player, you will be wanting a new challenge to help improve your game.

“At Rhinos, I had become too comfortable and needed to get out of that comfort zone.”

He said things change quickly for footballers and one has to weigh the best option before making a move.

Banda said he was settling in well at his new base and is expecting the club to start the season on a high note.

“I’m settling in well as an individual, and as a group, we are getting there because we want to achieve something.

“I wish to start on a winning note and to then win as many games as we can as a team,” he said.
