Banking sector must support investors

THE local banking sector must start coming up with financial packages which promote local investors to start up businesses. Most of the banks have been promising to reduce their lending rates but that has not been reflective on the ground with industry still complaining that institutions are still offering short term loans at high interest. Meanwhile, the Industrial index closed the week on Friday lower at 134.11 after losing 0.60 points (0,45 percent). Old Mutual was down $0,2500 to settle at $2,5500, Turnall shed $0,0020 to $0,0700 while Pearl decreased by $0,0010 to close at $0.0240. NMB closed at $0,0360 following a $0,0001 loss.

Trading in the positive territory, First Mutual added $0,0013 to trade at $0,0213 and DZLH recovered $0,0001 to close at $0,0832.
The Industrial index lost 0.74 points (0,55 percent) compared to week ending 4 September 2015.

The Mining index was steady at 29.10 points. Bindura, Falgold, Hwange and Rio Zim, were unchanged at $0,0200, $0,0050, $0,0340 and $0,1200 in that order.
The Mining index dropped 3.87 points (11,74 percent) compared to week ending 4 September 2015.
