adminTshintsha Guluva were stunned 1-0 in the first half of the season when they travelled to Hwange and Wilbert Sibanda, the club’s secretary general, said they wanted nothing less than three points this time around.
“It is now crunch time and we cannot afford to drop any points. We want to win all our remaining games hence we are preparing hard for each game.
“Cosmos beat us in our first game but it’s a different game this time around,” Sibanda said.
He said the team was fired up and wanted to compensate for the 1-1 draw away to Tsholotsho last week.
Sibanda said the championship race was still wide open and it was important to win games at this stage.
Joint log leaders alongside ZPC Hwange, How Mine, who also played to a 2-2 draw with fourth-placed Railstars at home last weekend, play Ntabazinduna.
Sheunesu Chaka, the How Mine coach, said they had respect for Ntabazinduna and were going to try their best to get the precious three points even though the pitch was not that good. “I have always maintained that we are always out to collect maximum points in all our games and this match day will be no different. We have much respect for Ntabazinduna who are a good side but I have some reservations concerning their football pitch which is not that good but we will do our best to get the points,” said Chaka.
He said they too, like every team, were in the league to try and gain promotion to the Premier Soccer League although that was not their concern for now.
Zimbabwe Saints, who are in the lower half of the log and might find themselves in Division Two next season, travel to Plumtree for a clash with Bulawayo Chiefs and coach Edmore Sibanda said the position they were in was not favourable and they were going to be playing for maximum points in all their coming games.
“Our position is simply not where we want to be and as such we will try to win all our coming games and we have to. We will do all we can to win our match against Bulawayo Chiefs so that we move up the log,” he said.
Chikwata last week picked up a point away to Power Cosmos courtesy of a 1-1 draw but Sibanda said draws were not good enough at this stage of the season.
