FORMER Premiership side Bantu Rovers are targeting veterans Mkhokheli Dube and Herbert Dick in their quest for a top league berth next year.
The club is reportedly under immense pressure from some of their sponsors to bounce back to the elite league.
Sources close to the club revealed that Tshinstha Guluva has set aside a substantial amount of money to recruit experienced players to guide them back to the Premiership.
“We understand the club is under pressure from some funders in the United States of America to bounce back therefore they might sign quite a number of experienced players. They are offering Dube and Dick good deals to join them,” said the source.
Both players have not yet committed to their respective clubs this season and it is believed they are still assessing options. Dick has not attended any training session with How Mine at Luveve Stadium despite being registered for their Caf Confederations Cup campaign. Dube was at Chicken Inn last season.
How Mine head coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube said Dick has not joined the rest of the squad in their pre-season camp as he needs to sort his contract with the club.
“Dick is not with us because there are some things that need to be sorted out about his contract.
“He will join us after everything is sorted out,” said Beefy.
Bantu Rovers secretary Wilbert Sibanda refused to shed light on new signings and their targets as he feels doing so could jeopardise negotiations.
“We will announce the squad when we are going for camp, even those that will be selected during this trial period,” said Sibanda.
