Bantu Rovers vow to retain professionalism

BANTU Rovers coach Mandla Mpofu says his team will retain their professionalism in their last few games despite virtually being relegated from the Castle Lager Premiership.

Bantu Rovers take on Chapungu at Ascot this afternoon knowing that their fate has all been sealed.

For Bantu to survive they need Triangle, Shabanie and How Mine to lose all their remaining four matches while the Bualwayo side collect maximum points.

“Mathematically, we still have a chance of playing in the Premiership next season. However, given the look of things we are already relegated,” said Mpofu.

“If we are to survive, it would mean that Chapungu, Triangle, Shabanie Mine and How Mine have to lose all their remaining matches while we also collect maximum points and it’s not possible.

“Nevertheless, we will not be doing any team a favour. We are going to remain professional and take every game as seriously as ever.”

Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino said he was not underestimating Bantu Rovers.

“We are taking this game seriously because we cannot afford to lose points at this level of the game,” said Nyikadzino.

“We do not underestimate Bantu Rovers because they are a good side. Their results are not a reflection of their type of play.”

Chapungu are still to lose a game at home this season.
