NGEZI Platinum Stars coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva is backing home advantage when his side hosts in-form CAPS United in a Castle Lager Premier League clash at Baobab tomorrow.

The match carries a personal edge for Mutiwekuziva, who comes up against his predecessor Takesure Chiragwi, now in charge of CAPS United.

Mutiwekuziva took over a depleted squad after last season’s sanctions, with no new signings, but has shown enough organisation and discipline to compete.

He expects a tough test against a CAPS United side that is yet to lose this season.

“Playing against CAPS, it’s a tricky game because they started the season well and are yet to taste defeat, but we are looking forward to breaking that run,” he said.

The Ngezi coach believes playing at Baobab could make the difference.

“We are motivated by home advantage and the support of our fans. We do not have anything to prove, we just want to compete the way we have against other teams.

“We will approach the match with a positive mindset and we will not underestimate CAPS United because they are doing well,” he said.

CAPS United will be looking to protect their unbeaten start, while Ngezi will see this as a chance to make a statement at home.
