Barca table Suarez offer

LONDON. — Luis Suarez is joining Barcelona after the Spanish soccer giants agreed in principle to pay Liverpool a record fee for the striker. Suarez has also “agreed” to join Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish daily AS claims Suarez has a verbal agreement to quit Liverpool for the Nou Camp. Suarez’s camp have made no secret of his desire to join Barcelona and his wife’s family live in Catalonia.

Liverpool rejected Barcelona’s opening £60million bid during talks on Wednesday between the clubs in London.

They are holding out for £75 million and it is expected a fee of around £70million will be agreed, possibly as early as next week. Wednesday’s talks were described as “productive” and further discussions are planned in the coming days between Barcelona and Liverpool. Liverpool and Barcelona will hold further talks over the sale of  Suarez in the next few days after the Spanish club made an opening offer understood to be around £72million.

The outline bid is still short of Liverpool’s £80m valuation but shows an acceptance of the 27-year-old’s worth.

The Reds price last season’s double Player of the Year at £75m and have told Barca to forget about brokering a cut-price deal because of his four-month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini last month while playing for Uruguay at the World Cup.

Both sides agreed to include Sanchez in the deal, who is valued at £32million by Barcelona — but the Chile World Cup forward has yet to be consulted. — The Mirror-Mailonline.
