MANICALAND’S acclaimed traditional dance ensemble, Dapurahunanzva, finished as second runners-up at the Chibuku Neshamwari National Finals held at Harare Gardens this afternoon.
Harare representatives, Shingai Dance Troupe, were crowned the national champions after impressing judges and the crowd with their captivating Mbakumba dance performance. Bulawayo’s Ezimnyama Dance Ensemble, who showcased the Tsutsube dance, claimed second place.
This year’s competition was held under the theme: “Ngoma Ngairire Shamwari, Tshay’sgubhu Mngane,” celebrating friendship, togetherness and cultural exchange through Zimbabwe’s rich traditional dances.
Dapurahunanzva once again demonstrated why they remain among Zimbabwe’s finest traditional dance ensembles. Their third-place finish comes four years after they won the national title at the same competition, which was also held at Harare Gardens in 2022.
The Harare Gardens venue continues to hold fond memories for the Manicaland group, who once again delivered a memorable performance on the national stage.
