Afro-pop musician “BaShupi” has courted dancehall sensation Soul Jah Love to come up with a sizzling track christened “Muridzo”. The track talks about the perils of trusting people who may not have one’s interests in mind, and advises people to believe in themselves first before resorting to the next person.
BaShupi whose real name is Peace Ndlovu said working with Soul Jah Love was something extraordinary because the dancehall artiste keeps maturing as a musician.
“Soul Jah Love is very talented and that cannot be contested. He is very creative and he brought a lot of quality to the track,” BaShupi said.
He said the collaboration with Soul Jah Love would continue during live shows.
“This is the beginning of things to come and already we are looking forward to shows where we will perform together,” said the “Mamonya” singer.
Soul Jah Love, who is still basking in the glory of a successful United Kingdom tour said his experience with BaShupi has helped him further develop as a musician.
“Working with BaShupi was an eye-opener because it helped me explore into other genres as well as improving on my creativity.
“Above all BaShupi is like a big brother to me as he not only helped me music-wise but also gave me a lot of personal advice and I enjoyed every moment that I worked with him.
“I am very hopeful that we shall continue this trend of working together,” Soul Jah Love said.
The two musicians are set to hold a number of joint shows meant to promote their single as well as other future projects.
