THE battle lines have been drawn for the running of the Bloodstock South Africa 2000 Grade (3) race set for Borrowdale Race Course on Sunday. It will be over 2,000 metres. Mashonaland Turf Club have released the final list of horses that will lock horns for this year’s edition of the Bloodstock South Africa race. The best connection is set to share $4,869 after the initial stake money of $9,000 was revised downwards to $8,100. The three placed runners to go past the finishing post will get $1,620, $1,012 and $608 according to their order of merit.

Nine tried and tested thoroughbred runners will be loaded onto the stall gates one more time for this second leg of the Triple Crown race to determine the most talented runner of their generation.

Eversolucky trained by Bridget Stidolp is the top gun from this impressive list made up of the fastest runners at Borrowdale today.

This filly will definitely be the one to beat on Sunday after being entered as the highest rated runner at (85).

This equine is expected to carry the burden of the yard on its saddle in their quest to return home with the trophy having won it during the last racing season.

During the last racing season Luck Sam from Bridget Stidolp, brought a big smile on the faces of the connection and the stable after walking away as the best thoroughbred runner in the process winning the Triple Crown.

It is also interesting to note that Mica Point winner of the first leg over 1,600M last month has managed to make it into this second leg.

Her long time rival Print The Pounds from Gokhan Terzi is also in and will be baying for her blood after losing the first leg.

For now it is advantage Bridget Stidolp and her team as the pendulum seems to be swinging in their favour for many reasons.

However, on Sunday all jockeys and their running mates will be out to prove a point and become the best representatives from their stables.

They’re expected to come out with their guns blazing as the battle for second leg of the Triple Crown goes into over drive.

It is the first time for these three-year-old runners to go this far in their entire careers. They’re yet to taste the pain that goes along with running this marathon race.

Only the best conditioned runner will withstand the heat when the going gets tough and go on to engrave his or her name in the history books after breaking the ribbon on Sunday.
