BULAWAYO Basketball Association (BBA) secretary Admire Chafa has said his organisation would be working to enlist academies into their league and spread the game to the western suburbs in the 2017/18 season.
Chafa said creating a vibrant junior policy and spreading the game should be a catalyst for improving quality of basketball in the city.
“We want to create a vibrant junior policy with players between the ages of 15 and 16 years. We currently have one academy team that has registered with us. We are also taking the game to the people and some of our games will be played in the western suburbs,” said Chafa.
The BBA will use White City Stadium netball courts and Tshabalala tennis courts for some of their league games as part of their quest to take the game to the people.
