BBNaija Season 10 Reunion kicks off with tears, explosive clashes, unfinished drama

The Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 Reunion premiered on Monday night on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family, immediately serving viewers a mix of emotional breakdowns, sharp exchanges, and unresolved tensions from the season.

Hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the opening episode wasted no time revisiting old conflicts, with housemates confronting each other over past behaviour, strained relationships, and unanswered questions from their time in the house.

One of the night’s most emotional moments came from Thelma, who broke down during a discussion involving the controversial Kayikunmi and Isabella situation. The “Port Harcourt babe with a child” remark resurfaced as a key point of tension, with Thelma maintaining that while Isabella felt hurt by not knowing about her prior connection with Kayikunmi, she did not owe her any pre-show disclosure or loyalty.

As Ebuka attempted to mediate and encourage understanding between both sides, emotions ran high, and Thelma eventually broke down in tears — marking the first emotional collapse of the reunion season.

Tensions escalated further when Big Soso clashed with Thelma, declaring that she had “enough money” to deal with Isabella’s issues.
The comment sparked further division, making reconciliation between Big Soso and Thelma appear unlikely. Ironically, Isabella, who was at the centre of the original dispute, appeared relatively unbothered by Thelma during the episode.

Another fiery moment came from Kola and Doris, as Ebuka revisited speculation about a possible romantic connection between the two during the main season. Kola dismissed any suggestion of romance, describing the situation as a “non-factor”, but expressed frustration over Doris’ interpretation of his behaviour, insisting he never led her on. Doris, however, stood her ground, arguing that Kola’s behaviour and tone suggested romantic interest, and that her feelings were valid.

The conversation took a sharp turn when Kola labelled Doris as “Alhaji’s meal” and claimed the house felt more peaceful after her eviction. The exchange left the pair clearly divided, with no sign of reconciliation.

In contrast to the heated disputes, Zita and Danboskid addressed their situation with relative calm, agreeing that their relationship simply fizzled out after the show. Both parties accepted responsibility for the breakdown, citing a lack of effort on both sides. Danboskid admitted he never took Zita on an official date, while Zita acknowledged her own lack of interest in pursuing things further. They concluded that the chapter is firmly closed.

Mide also took time to address allegations of colourism raised during the season, firmly denying the accusations. She insisted that she is not a colourist and argued that Zita’s earlier comments were a misinterpretation. Zita maintained that she experienced a “condescending vibe” not only from Mide but also from Sabrina and Thelma, although Mide appeared satisfied that she had clarified her position publicly.

The premiere episode set the tone for what promises to be a highly charged reunion season, with unresolved tensions, emotional confrontations and lingering grievances still to come.

With more housemates expected to take the hot seat in the coming episodes, viewers can anticipate further revelations, heated exchanges and dramatic showdowns.

The BBNaija Season 10 Reunion airs weekdays at 10pm on Africa Magic Showcase and 10:30pm on Africa Magic Family on DStv, with episodes also available on DStv Stream.
