adminOwen Nyoni (52), stationed at Tshabalala Housing Office was arrested last week following an incident, which occurred on 26 December near Masiyephambili Drive in Lobengula West where he threatened to shoot Mr Jonnah Dube, of 73360 in Lobengula West.
It is still not clear why Nyoni blocked Mr Dube who was driving a South African registered vehicle.
Nyoni was on Friday arraigned before Bulawayo magistrate Miss Charity Maphosa facing a charge of pointing a firearm and three other charges of violating different sections of the Firearms Act.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Nyoni, who is out of custody on his own cognisance, will next appear in court tomorrow.
Mr Shepherd Nhamburo, for the State told the court that the complainant was driving along a road adjacent to Masiyephambili Drive on 26 December when Nyoni suddenly drove in front of him and blocked his way with a blue Toyota Ipsum.
Mr Dube then allegedly disembarked from his vehicle and confronted Nyoni to inquire why he was blocking his way and Nyoni allegedly drew a pistol, which he pointed at Mr Dube threatening to shoot.
Nyoni was later arrested and a pistol was recovered under the seat of his vehicle.
He is now being charged with failing to secure a firearm as defined in Section 28(2) of the Firearms Act Chapter 10:09 and contravening Section 4(4)(c) of the same Act, for carrying around a firearm which is registered for home protection.
The fourth charge is that of allegedly failing to notify authorities about change of address.
