BCC workers stumble on body floating in sewer manhole

REMAINS of an unidentified female around the age of 30-31 years was on Monday found floating in a sewer manhole in Pumula South, Bulawayo.

Bulawayo City Council workers who were attending a sewer blockage stumbled upon the body in an advanced state of decomposition. They immediately called the police.

The remains were retrieved and taken to United Bulawayo Hospital for post mortem.

Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incident and said investigations were on-going.

“At the moment we are trying to find out who the person is and what happened but I encourage all those with missing relatives to come and identify the body of the deceased,” she said.
