This week we introduce an exciting new column where we look at celebrating and developing innovative youths who are taking their destiny into their own hands. We start off with opportunities for those already in the business. But if that is not you, don’t despair. Keep reading this column for great ideas.

Anzisha Prize 2014
If you are 15 and above and run a project or business that impacts your community or know a teen who is into that, then apply for the Anzisha Prize 2014.

The Anzisha Prize is celebrating Africa’s youngest, most innovative entrepreneurs, between 15-22, who have created ventures that have a positive impact on their community.

There is US$75 000 in cash prizes and US$10 000 for renewable energy ventures distributed between the 12 finalists.

In addition, finalists receive an all expenses paid trip to African Leadership Academy in South Africa and a week-long training in entrepreneurial leadership.

The entrants have to be between the ages of 15 and 22 and you can enter yourself by visiting the website on http://www.anzishaprize.org/
