Yes, the holiday is upon us and are we ready for some action.
Starting on social media, of late there has been another gem to add on your picture which somehow is supported by beatsbydre, I presume.
The tag states – STRAIGHT FROM (with your area of birth). The trend looks, wow on Instagram and Facebook.
One thing which is not so cool and swagless is having many teenagers crowding at Joina City. Guys, it’s now a thing of the past meeting at the complex, worse wearing the Dope label. So don’t be caught out in public, shame!
The holiday gig guide includes Summerfest at Waterwhirld, Harare Agricultural Show, highlighting the fireworks and the Amusement Park.
Three international artistes who are coming to perform include Davido, Toni Braxton and Babyface and our own Zimdancehall groups.
The golden rule during these gigs is stay off drugs. I know this is the time when most teenagers indulge in drug abuse but if the truth be told, there is nothing sweet and melo on them.
Have fun the smart way.
On to the couch, dear potatoes; DSTV and ZBC TV are continuing to entertain us well. Favourite among the teenagers is the “H20: Just Add Water” series. Under the influence of a full moon, the girls’ powers are hugely enhanced and they wreak havoc on Lewis in his boat. The next day the girls realise they still need Lewis.
That’s more of it and stay glued to the tele.
Last week my boys and I attended the première of “Mission Impossible Rogue Nation” directed and acted by Tom Cruise.
I am a huge fan of Cruise but on this one I think he used the notes of “FAF6” director – too fake stunts and too childish although the movie always keeps you in suspense. I give it four stars though.
Our gadget of the week goes to the Smach Zero.
Yes, your PC gaming finally makes a big splash in the living room when the Steam Machines debut in November.
If you’ve been wanting something more portable, though, you’ll have to wait a little longer for the Smach Zero, a handheld gaming console running Valve’s SteamOS.
CLS is always ahead.
Formerly known as Steamboy, it’s, basically, a miniature gaming PC in a PS Vita form factor, allowing you to enjoy your favourite Steam games on the go. That way, you don’t have to quit playing Civ 4, Half-Life 2, or whatever other game which currently destroys all your productive time when you need to leave the house, allowing you to continue them in the back of a classroom if you really need a short break to clear your mind for another round of studying.
Smach Zero will have a 5-inch 720p touchscreen, flanked by four buttons and a tactile gamepad on each side, along with six rear buttons and a control stick. It’s powered by an embedded AMD G-Series SoC, which pairs a Jaguar-based CPU with Radeon graphics.
Other specs include 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, SD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI-out, and optional 4G connectivity for those who want to play online on the road.
According to the company, the console will play more than 1 000 games from the Steam library out of the box, so while you aren’t likely to be able to use it for the most demanding titles, there should be plenty of options available.
No word on battery life, though, which is expected to be the major sticking point for any handheld-sized PCs, so that could be a huge concern for the device moving forward.
Slated for a 2016 release, the Smach Zero will go up on preorder in November but start saving the price as the owners of the game said will start with US$299.
Hope there is a clone, lol.
Until next week keep swaggering.
