Be wise and act wisely

“Applause, I live for the applause applause“Applause.
“Live for the way that you cheer and scream for  Me.”

Most of us live for the way others want us to live. For the way others cheer and rally behind us just like Lady Gaga. We never want others to find out that we are computers geniuses. Why? Because we are afraid they will label us “geeks”. Instead of doing things we want, we would rather go ahead and break the school rules. Why? So that we can be seen as part of the cool kids.

High school is the most confusing and peer pressured part of life. With others drinking, smoking and for some becoming mothers before time. We must admit in such a world you end losing grip with reality. You know what you should say when they call you old-fashioned? “Kwangu hakusi kusara kuziya kuti yangu nguva ichasvika (I am not old fashioned but I know that my time will come).”

Some girls are not comfortable with how they look. Not everyone is going to look like Soraya Vallabh or Beyonce and no one really has a Nicki Minaj body. Most girls out there go and have fake eyelashes fixed on.

Does how you look matter more than knowing who truly you are down in your heart? The problem with us girls is how we always seek self-worth from our friends. A friend who tells you to really be happy with who you are is not your enemy.

“School days are the best, so enjoy them,” my mother always used to say. This seems true but if you screwed up listening to mothers, you would find out sooner or later. Regrets (kukungura) are your worst enemy, be wise and act wisely. But one thing is, know what you want for yourself and stay focused.

Restrain yourself from doing stupid things. I’ve had my fair share and got rebuked.

Take heed and avoid the encounter with stupidity. When you know who you are, many will wonder if there is something wrong with you.
With the music we listen to nowadays we tend to go ‘along with the flow,’ The movies we watch also constitutes to what we do. When it comes to relationships we tend to follow what international celebs do. Is what we have in relationships ending in broken hearts? Girls! There is room for the word NO. And guys have morals and respect that word.
My colleagues once had betted on how they can bed the hard to get girls. Fame does not come from being friends with guys, stand for who you are?
Without a cellphone you don’t know which group to fit into. It shouldn’t be just any cellphone but a well-known and approved brand like Apple,Samsung Android or at most a tablet. And if your parents cannot afford this, should you suffer identity crisis?
It also does not matter where you learn but what does matter is where you are headed in life.
Our friends do not make who we are. How we stand against what is wrong is what makes us who we are. The ‘Bad Boys’ admire the good in the stupid old fashioned guys because for them, it’s too late to show their good side for they are considered lame.
Enjoy school, know who are and be responsible for your actions so you can be able to handle bigger ones in life. Sitting candidates of this fall, May the Lord Almighty help you remember everything you studied, come out with flying colors and do it big in life.
