Beach Soccer Zimbabwe (BSZ) has announced the co-option of Vincent Chawonza, a former Dynamos Football Club official and businessman, into its board as the new board member for development.
Chawonza brings a wealth of experience in football management and development to the board. His corporate connections and network are also expected to benefit the sport.
BSZ chairman Mike Mandaza welcomed Chawonza to the fold, saying: “We are delighted to have Vincent on board. His expertise, passion for football, and corporate connections will be invaluable in driving the sport forward in Zimbabwe.”
Chawonza expressed excitement at joining the board.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Beach Soccer Zimbabwe family. I look forward to working with the team to grow the sport, create opportunities for our players, and attract sponsors and partners.”
Simba Jemwa, the board member administration, added: “Vincent’s appointment is a significant boost to our board. His knowledge, skills, and connections will help us to develop a robust development program, which will benefit the sport as a whole.”
Chawonza’s role will focus on developing beach soccer infrastructure, increasing participation, and creating pathways for players to compete internationally. His corporate connections are also expected to help attract sponsors and partners to support the sport.
“I am eager to get started and make a positive impact. Beach soccer has huge potential in Zimbabwe, and I am committed to helping unlock that potential,” Chawonza said.
