Beamish picks bronze at South Africa Youth Championships

ALEXIS Beamish put up a good show to claim a bronze medal at the South Africa Youth Championships held over the weekend in Benoni.

Triathlon Zimbabwe had eight athletes taking part at the championships and the best result was from Beamish.

She finished third in the Under-15 Girls to pick the team’s only medal.

In the Under-15 Boys, John Goddard came fourth while his twin brother Sebastian placed 10th.

Alvin Mufute was 11th and Daniel Hildebrand finished 13th.

Hannah Hosack placed fourth in the Under-13 Girls.

It was the same story in the boys section with Bryce Cameron also finishing fourth, and Shinga Mushamba was ninth.

Besides the youth team, Zander Botha was also in action, competing in the Africa Triathlon Junior Cup and put up a brave performance when finishing sixth.
