THE city’s music producers behind hits that have become national anthems on radio stations, public transport and pubs are on cloud nine after being nominated in the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (RoilBAA).
The producers have been nominated in the Outstanding Music Producer category.
The nominees are Murphy Cubic who raised the bar high from his recent work of Nino featuring Emtee on the song No Problems, Smallz from Elephant Herd who has worked with the likes of Gazelimnyama, MJ Sings and Qeqe and completing the nominees list is Neshville of Rockup Studioz known for producing songs for Clement Magwaza, Black Umfolosi, Iyasa and Bolamba Culture Birds.

Most of the time people behind the scenes who are the producers are forgotten when musicians are being recognised for their works.
Smallz said: “It’s a great honour to be nominated again after the 2019 edition as well. It’s an amazing feeling to know that all the hard work I’ve been doing is recognised. It motivates me to keep pushing and learning in the music industry.
“I think my nomination is as a result of the quality of my work and the number of projects I’ve done this year.

I also had the honour of learning more by working at Jeys Marabini Studios,” said Smallz.
Murphy Cubic of Goreal Music said he is grateful for the nomination and said his works are being recognised internationally.
“I am very excited by the nomination which is an honour for me given that my work was selected from among the best,” he said.
Neshville, one of the unsung musical heroes in the city said: “This is my first ever nomination so I am so excited that I am part and parcel of Bulawayo’s outstanding producers who might walk away with an award this year. I have worked extra hard day and night. If I win I will dedicate the award to my mother who bought me the first computer.”
