BULAWAYO’S nightlife just got a serious shake-up thanks to two daring DJs who are blending past and present into one unforgettable sound.

Prince Eskhosini and Umlungu Omnyama have launched a blazing new concept called New Meets Old, a bold fusion of old-school and fresh house beats that’s got clubbers of all ages dancing like it’s their era.

Forget the same-old playlists. This duo is throwing down back-to-back sets where vintage anthems crash into trending bangers, and the result is electric.

In an interview, DJ Prince Eskhosini explained that the idea behind the movement is to create a unique experience that bridges generations, brings people together, and showcases the evolution of house music over time.

“The idea came up about a month ago when we did a back-to-back set. Umlungu would play a new, trending house track, and I’d follow up with a classic hit. We had a mixed crowd that night, and it was incredible to see people from different age groups vibing together. That’s when we knew we had something special.”

Having made a name for themselves by performing at various clubs and festivals around Bulawayo, the duo became known for their eclectic mixes that travel through time, blending vintage house beats with modern productions.

Their debut set under the New Meets Old banner quickly gained attention for its originality and energy, taking audiences on a nostalgic yet refreshing sonic journey. It became the blueprint for what they now hope will grow into a broader cultural movement, one that encourages collaboration among DJs and diversity in music selection.

“The main idea is to spice up the music scene with something different. Too often, people walk into a club and request the same songs they’ve been playing in their cars, which limits DJs and stifles creativity. New Meets Old is our way of challenging that trend while celebrating the rich history and future of house music,” Eskhosini said.

The DJs believe their differing musical tastes are a strength, not a limitation.

“Our contrasting styles are actually what make the experience exciting. It gives audiences a wider musical palette, something for everyone, and something unexpected.”

As New Meets Old gains momentum, the duo plans to host regular themed sessions, collaborate with other DJs, and eventually take the concept beyond Bulawayo.

“We want to create a platform where DJs can truly express themselves and where audiences can rediscover the magic of house music, both past and present,” he said.

Listening to their impressive and ever-evolving set, clubbers of note will realise that house music has a past, a future, and a place for everyone.

Watch this space. The revolution is spinning.
