FASHION has indeed come a long way and has evolved with time.
The world has witnessed the most fabulous down to the craziest and weirdest trends.
As the world keeps going round and evolving with time so do its supreme inhabitants — humans.
It is commendable to note that people have indeed become fashion conscious and will go to high lengths to look good.
What bothers me though is how some people over do it, ladies in particular. I mean no disrespect but since ladies learnt how to wear makeup, weaves and lashes, the list is endless . . . Fashion has taken a weird blow and has been turned into a festival.
Fashion entails more than just dressing up yourself and assuming that you look fab in whatever outfit you wear.
Consider getting advice from friends before heading out wearing something that will be perceived ghoulish.
I recall someone telling me that life would be so much easier if we asked or rather told our dearest the truth about the way they dress. It would be easier too if we in turn could accept positive criticism.
Makeup
Not all the blame should be taken by women but by men too. You know most of the women we see, excessively covered in makeup, should not be blamed entirely. Their men are to blame as well; they are the ones that allow their ladies to come out looking ghoulish.
We should all be able to tell our partners or family members that they don’t look fab if they over do something.
I have this one friend who totally detests makeup but his wife wears it. He told me that he didn’t know how to tell her to ease up on it.
“She is a naturally beautiful woman but after she does her facial artwork with all lipstick, eye shadow and the other stuff I don’t know she looks like a circus clown. I really don’t have the courage or heart to tell her to quit using makeup as she seems to love it,” he said.
If you do follow my column you will remember that I did mention that makeup is meant to accentuate your best attributes. Makeup is more of a beauty enhancer and not meant to dab it out.
Still on the issue of makeup I also happened to write about how ladies shave off their eyebrows only to redraw them.
There is one particular lady whom I will not mention who wears the weirdest eyebrows.
How on earth do you shave them off only to redraw freaky ones? Not only that, but wear preposterous false eyelashes.
Dressing
Apart from makeup the way some ladies dress is also horrendous.
They squeeze themselves into transparent tights with tops that barely cover their rear and then round it all off with a huge belt that divides their bodies into two.
Being fashion conscious is good if you know what flatters your figure and what turns you into an ugly looking woman.
Fashion has developed highly over the years that you can get new outfits and designs on the market anywhere.
The trick is to know which styles are suitable for your body.
Hair
Not every woman can carry off the hairstyles we see on world renowned celebrities.
I have seen some ridiculous looking hairstyles that are inspired by some of the craziest celebrities.
Ladies please make realistic choices, waltzing around town with red hair will definitely get you attention . . .
Attention that will describe you as imbecile.
Manicure and pedicure
Ladies some of those false nails that look like you have been on the prowl with vampires are totally not on.
You can still have French tips or false nails that make your finger and toe nails look pretty without making you look like a creature that dug its way out of a grave or a witch.
Just because you have seen Nicki Minaj with long freaky nails doesn’t mean that they will make u look pretty.
Make some informed fashion choices.
Not everyone is good at making choices, some women make weird fashion choices and do so out of ignorance and in most cases arrogance. Not all the things you see on TV or magazines will look good on you.
