adminease accommodation woes that have become a perennial problem for the town. He said the local authority had allocated 1 150 high density, 300 medium density and 150 low density stands. Dr Singo said they would service 3 000 more stands by mid year.
He said they had sent their master development plan to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural and Urban Development for approval. He said the new stands would include; 2 500 high density, 800 medium density and 140 low density. Dr Singo said plans were in the pipeline to avail more industrial and commercial stands in the town.
Dr Singo said the town’s housing backlog stood at over 9 000 and that their target was to reduce the figure by half in the next two years though they were looking at completely clearing the housing backlog within a period of five years.
