“The court heard that the offender lured the victim under the pretext of accompanying him to a local tuck-shop. During that outing, he fondled her breasts and threatened to kill her if she revealed the abuse,” said the Authority in the statement.

“Later that same month, he sent the girl to his home to collect a radio. He followed her inside, overpowered her, and raped her before threatening her life again.

“Over subsequent months, the man continued to lure the victim to his house under the guise of offering her casual labour. He raped her on multiple occasions and restricted her movements, fearing she might divulge the rape.”

The NPAZ said the offence came to light in May 2026 after the victim was dismissed from a domestic work role upon discovery of her pregnancy.

She then sought assistance from a village health worker who advised her to report the matter to the police, leading to the offender’s arrest and subsequent conviction.

“The NPAZ condemns all forms of sexual violence, especially those perpetrated against vulnerable children, and warns that perpetrators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” said the Authority.
