adminHadebe, from Delta Beverages, will officially open the event. Event co-ordinator, Lovemore Chonzi, said the tournament was being sponsored by the 10 participating teams.
The teams are Beitbridge Hotel, Chinyama, Pagomo, Pagomba, Zebras, ZPS, Gandanga Stars, Four Stars, Jaya’s Pool Club and TCU.
They are all drawn from Beitbridge.
Chonzi said they had put together a lot of cash prizes.
“The event starts at 10am until we have the last man standing. We are calling on all pool lovers to come in their numbers as there will be lots of cash prizes and
T-shirts to be given away on the day,” said Chonzi.
“The larger number of participants, the bigger the prize money. So far we have 10 teams who have registered to participate in the event. The referees have been trained for three days by people from other established pool leagues. “We have also invited a number of businessmen from the border town and hope the sponsorship will grow bigger with time.
