Beitbridge residents gather for Heroes Day celebrations

Beitbridge residents have gathered at the Makakavhule District Shrine to celebrate Heroes Day, honouring the lives of liberation war heroes.

The District Development Coordinator, Mrs Sikhangezile Mafu, is leading the celebrations and is set to read President Mnangagwa’s speech.

In a show of unity, residents and leaders from various political parties are in attendance. Community leaders at the event include Beitbridge mayor Councillor Pirato Mafuta, Beitbridge RDC Chairperson Clr Oscar Chiromo, Beitbridge West MP Thusani Ndou and Senator for Beitbridge Tambudzani Mohadi.

The festivities feature entertainment from dance groups, poets and artists from the prison arts group, including the Fugees.
