He spoke to Abraham at that time and today He speaks to us in Isaiah 51:1-3, He says, “ . . . looking unto Abraham your father”, it is an indication that He is willing to do unto us what He did unto Abraham.
We are connected to Abraham through the death of Jesus Christ. We are redeemed not only for heaven, but to be partakers of Abraham’s promises as well (Galatians 3:13-14).
All it takes is to have faith because God cannot tell lies (Numbers 23:19).
Therefore, true redemption connects us to Abraham’s blessings.
Through scripture in Genesis 25:7-8, we are told that Abraham lived for 175 years. God is determined to make an individual become every word he or she believes.
Moses heard that man could live for 120 years and his eyes were not dim or his natural force abated. He saw the word and believed it. Abraham lived a long and prosperous life. It is possible to be productive, to look and feel good at an old age.
Additionally, in Genesis 14 Abraham went to war at the age of 90. Galatians 4:28 gives us confidence that as Isaac is, so are we. God looks at us the way He looks at Isaac.
The promises of God in Isaiah 65:17-25 are every believer’s portion.
The word of God should not be interpreted through the happenings surrounding a person. Truth is not relative and neither is it a function of public opinion. Jesus paid the price for our healing.
Faith for the healing power of God is a prerequisite for its enforcement. If God proved it in Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, then He established the 120 years in Moses we can also live that long. What you believe is vital in determining what will become of you (John 10:35).
Only those who talk of long life, enjoy long life because the issues of life or death are located in the mouth:
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21).
Carefully guard your tongue in order to prevent it from speaking evil if you want to live a long life.
Psalm 81:10 teaches that the words we speak are seeds; hence death should not be a part of our vocabulary. Not speaking the truth of the word of God is a short cut to registering your name to the mortuary.
Fear of death is what gives access to the devil to torment our lives, as seen in Job 3:25. What Job was afraid of is exactly what befell him despite the fact that he was a man of integrity, who feared God and turned away from evil.
When you secure the love of God as demonstrated in Isaiah 41:1-4, your destiny is as sure as the rising of the sun. If death threatens you, call unto Jesus (Psalm 91:15).
Bitterness is a silent killer, therefore avoid it. In 1 John 3:14-16 loving one another guarantees life while hatred is a sure way to abide in death. Love should flow out to others if we are children of God because God in His nature is love. We are begotten of God; hence we ought to display his nature.
Lack of financial integrity as displayed by Gehazi the servant of Elisha brings death. He was disappointed by Elisha’s refusal to accept a gift or payment from Naaman who was healed from leprosy.
Gehazi followed Naaman and swindled money from him in the name of the Lord. Little did he know that the spirit of Elisha was with him. Upon his arrival from following Naaman, Elisha questioned him about his whereabouts and he denied having gone anywhere. Elisha then cursed him with Naaman’s leprosy (2 Kings 5:20-27).
Ananias and Sapphira from the early Christian church in Jerusalem falsely claimed to be giving all the proceeds from a property sale, yet they had held back a large sum of money. Their reward for fraud was death (Acts 5:1-10).
In Psalm 90:10 King David saw and believed that man was given 70 years to live and he died at that age. Abraham saw and believed 120 years and he died at that age. This solidifies the fact that you become what you believe. Believe that long life is your portion.

About events calendar
With three days left before the curtain closes down on 2012, I take great pleasure and comfort in wishing those that have made this column what it is: another voice of the church in Zimbabwe and its walk with the Lord.
Our events calendar this week is small, but it does not mean that the body of Christ is inactive. Past experience has shown that this is the trend until the end of January when most corporate prayer and fasting events will have been broken.
However, the mega event before the end of the year was the commemoration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ on Christmas day. The coming of the Lord made it possible that we not only enjoy long and prosperous lives, but also conquer death as Apostle Mujeyi writes above.
I once again thank the Lord for opening such an opportunity to serve Him. I also thank the churches and individuals who have touched the lives of other people in various ways through their events, including those that we did not feature.
Powered by the Holy Spirit, we will continue to spread the gospel, for this is the greatest commission we can ill afford to disobey.
May 2013 be a year of supernatural breakthroughs! May the Lord Jesus take centre stage in every aspect of your life, and may He be glorified forever and ever.
