HIGHLANDERS FC coach Benjani Mwaruwari, who is set to be unveiled this coming week, is expected to arrive in Bulawayo on Saturday at around midday.
He was spotted at OR Tambo Airport, Johannesburg on Saturday morning at the intransit section where there is Gate 24-30 for regional destinations.
A source at the airport, said he spoke with Mwaruwari who confirmed that he was home bound.
“I saw Mwaruwari, you know he is an international figure, so many people were stopping to greet him. He appeared to meet some guys from Bulawayo, who obviously appeared excited that he is going to be coaching Highlanders.
“He said he would be jumping into a home bound plane at 11. I am not speculating, sadly I could not take pictures with him as he requested that his privacy be respected,” said a source.
Mwaruwari replaces Pieter De Jongh whose contract was not renewed after assisting Bosso survive relegation and reach semi-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup.
Mwaruwari is expected to work with Mkhokheli Dube as his assistant amid the latest reports that Thabo Senong is no longer coming.
