BENJANI Mwaruwari is set for a tough reunion with his boyhood club when Highlanders come marching into Baobab on Sunday.
The Undertaker’s men, Ngezi Platinum Stars, are yet to record back-to-back wins this season, de-spite being guided by three different coaches.
Rodwell Dhlakama resigned from the team while Takesure Chiragwi reverted to his old role as assistant coach but neither gaffer could inspire the club to two straight wins this season.
Benjani, who enjoyed a winning return from the break with a 3-0 thumping of Bulawayo City, now takes on the City of Kings flagship club.
He told H-Metro affection for Boss will not deter him from trying to get a positive result.
“It’s a tough encounter, playing Bosso is never easy, they have a strong squad, which can not be underestimated, at any given day.
“I have always made it clear that Bosso shaped my career and I will forever be grateful for that but it will not stop me from doing what we need to do.”
He has hinted his desire to register Junior Zingoga, a former Young Warriors striker.
Danny “Deco” Phiri is also trying out his luck in Mhondoro.
“For us to achieve what we want, we have to be consistent, we should get used to winning be-cause it’s disheartening to believe that we haven’t managed two wins in succession.
“At the moment, we are still assessing the players we are considering.
“But, as of now, I can say I’m being impressed by Zindoga.”
He added:
“The preparations are going on very well, we still have injuries in our camp.
“I just hope the available players will make use of the chance because football is a game of opportunities and one has to be ever ready.”
It’s not only Benjani, who is expecting a change in fortunes.
Bosso will be targeting to end their road misery. They last won an away fixture during the 2018 campaign.
Bosso’s newly-appointed boss, Baltermar Brito, made his mark in his first assignment, by edging Black Rhinos 3-2, last weekend.
