Move over Santa Claus, Sir Wicknell Chivayo is in town and he’s dishing out luxury rides and fat stacks like confetti!

The flamboyant businessman, known for his larger-than-life generosity, has shown an extra soft spot for Jah Prayzah and his crew, showering them with eye-popping gifts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, just for doing what they do best: making music that melts hearts.

From a US$180 000 Mercedes-Benz S500 to a brand-new 2025 Range Rover and a casual US$150 000 cash drop, Jah Prayzah is clearly Sir Wicknell’s favourite hitmaker.

Apparently, the love has spilled over to the 3G Band, with each member bagging a Toyota Aqua to drive off in style.

“This is not just appreciation . . . this is adoration!” said Jah Prayzah’s manager Keen Mushapaidze, who also got his own pick of a US$25 000 dream car courtesy of the deep-pocketed mogul.

Back in December, the frontline female vocalists of the 3G Band were the first to taste Chivayo’s generosity when they unwrapped their Toyota Aqua “early Christmas presents.” Now, the rest of the band is catching up, with cars waiting for collection right after their ongoing international tour.

“Sir Wicknell has always been there. From way back around 2010. He’s not just a fan, he’s family,” Mushapaidze said, adding that the support gives them the fuel, literally and creatively, to keep pushing Zimbabwean music to the world.

Sir Wicknell’s love affair with Jah Prayzah’s music has been nothing short of a blockbuster, and the businessman isn’t shy to splash the cash when his heart is touched by a beat or a lyric. Call it inspiration, call it obsession but clearly: Jah Prayzah sings, and the cars roll in!

In a country where creatives often hustle for recognition, Chivayo’s lavish gestures have been hailed as a game-changer.

“He’s doing what brands and corporates should be doing, investing in talent,” Mushapaidze said. “This motivates us to keep giving fans the best music. We’re humbled.”
