THE Benza family are DEFINITELY in love with Zimbabwean football.
Their father, Innocent Benza, owns a number of clubs, both men and women, and a club in the domestic Premiership, Herentals.
He also plays for that club.
His brother Paul is the coach of the family club while his son, Tino, is the captain.
Some critics have targeted Innocent Benza for his decision to keep playing even after passing the 50-year mark.
Those who support him have said he is an example for others, in terms of maintaining fitness, and he is living his dream to play for as long as he wants at his club.
One thing, though, cannot be questioned – this family’s genuine love for football, despite all the huge costs involved in living that dream.
On Friday, Benza’s sons were at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, supporting the Warriors in their World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
They footed their bill to support their country’s flagship football side and must have been left shattered by the 0-2 defeat.
