Bernadette M releases single

Afro RnB jazz musician Bernadette M has released a single called “Handisi Ndega” off her forthcoming debut album “Here I Am”. The Botswana-based Zimbabwean sensation, whose real name is Bernadette Nyemudza Mutangara, started singing at the age of six. “Here I Am”, which will be released in June, was inspired by her late father and the single “Handisi Ndega” was released to prepare her fans for what to expect from her upcoming offering.“I drew inspiration for my album from my parents, who worked tirelessly to get things done as I was growing up,” Bernadette M said.

“Tuku Music is timeless and has also done so much to impact on the way I write my songs,” she added.

Growing up in Zimbabwe, Bernadette M learnt to play the acoustic guitar which has become her best tool in the trade.

The melodious songbird has performed at major festivals in the country as well as in the region with Botswana’s DJ Oats who specialises in house music and now she has branched off to focus on her solo career.

She believes that she adds a unique touch to the music industry. Bernadette M has grand ambitions to continue contributing to the world of music.

“Am one artiste coming with fresh classical sound and I see my future in music very promising,” she said.

The talented lady believes that the local music industry is still in its infancy and there is room for growth as more and more players venture into the game. She also is scheduled to take part in a number of festivals this year in the country as well as regionally as a way of promoting her work and familiarising with her fans.

Though she believes there is a lot of talent in the country, Bernadette M says she is her own competition as she has found her own sound that will identify with herself in the long run.

“There is a lot of talent in Zimbabwe but I am my own competition because what I am about to deliver to people is very different yet enjoyable,” Bernedatte M said.
