BET SHOP BLUNDER! Honda Fit vanishes in 45 minutes.

A QUICK stop at a betting shop turned into a nightmare for a 48-year-old Pumula South man after his Honda Fit vanished from Bulawayo city centre on Saturday evening

The man had parked his silver Honda Fit (Reg: AHF 4044) between 5th and 6th Avenue along Herbert Chitepo Street at around 6:45 PM before heading into Africa Bet Shop. When he returned 45 minutes later, the car was gone without a trace.

“I made sure the windows and doors were locked, but the boot wasn’t working,” said the devastated car owner. “I never thought someone could steal it in broad daylight near a busy street.”

Police say the vehicle, worth US$3 000, has not been recovered.

“We are investigating the matter,” said Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele. “We urge vehicle owners not to leave their cars unattended for long, especially in high-traffic areas.”

The streets of Bulawayo, it seems, are no longer safe — not even for a 45-minute gamble.
