DANCEHALL Queen Award recipient, Beverly Sibanda, fondly referred to simply as Bev in entertainment circles will reignite her romance with pleasure seekers in Mutare when she takes to the stage at city centre’s Flavour Town Bar and Grill today.
Bev, who has carved her name in the entertainment circles as wild dancer who can perform with virtually anything from poles to bottles, is expected bring the roof down at Flavour Town, where the potentially scintillating show will see revellers paying $3 at the entrance.
The show starts at 8pm till late. Flavour Town Bar and Grill leaseholder, Amon “Mbiggs” Mambinge, confirmed that the popular raunchy dancer will be in Mutare.
“We have sealed the deal. As I am speaking, I am coming from Harare where we have finalised everything.
“Bev needs no introduction in our entertainment circles, hence revellers in Mutare should brace for a top drawer entertaining act on Friday (today),” he said.
Mbiggs, who is now running Flavour Town Bar and Grill, said there were plans to have exciting live musical and dance performances after every fortnight.
“We have plans to ensure that this becomes Mutare’s hottest entertainment night spot.
“In fact, we are in the process of finalising deals with musicians and entertainment groups that we want to perform on stage at Flavour Town.
“There are plans to have exciting live musical and dance performances after every fortnight.
“We are only tying the loose ends in some of the deals. Mutare has been lagging behind in terms of diversity as far as venues for live shows are concerned. Therefore we are coming in to offer an alternative and ensure that people can enjoy themselves at a place and time of their choice.
“ Added to it, we boast of ice cold beverages as well as expertly prepared meals,” said Mbiggs.
Late last year, Bev hogged the limelight on a November night in South Africa when she scooped the Dancehall Queen Award, ahead of several dancers drawn from across the continent.
For her sterling effort, Bev walked away, with 25 000 rand (about $1 700) and was crowned African Storm Dancehall Queen for 2015.
Her sensual dances have made her a favourite for men and women alike who religiously throng her shows.
The mere mention of her name evokes images of wild, sensual and seductive dance antics that have caused many men to become hot under the collar.
The dancer has a tendency of leaving her fans, mainly male patrons, drooling and asking for more whenever she takes to the stage.
