BEV: I’V DUMPED MY PAST, I’M NOW A NEW PERSON

RAUNCHY dancer Beverly Sibanda says she has shifted to a more reserved mode and no longer enjoys the drama which was always associated with her life.

However, she emphasised that if provoked, she will not remain quiet.

The founder of the Sexy Angels dance group has often found herself embroiled in controversy but now she prefers the “good girl” label, focusing solely on her performances. In an interview following her recent visit to Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison, where she entertained inmates, Beverly expressed her desire to leave past controversies behind.

She was part of a group of musicians who accompanied Sulu Chimbetu for a meet-and-greet with the inmates ahead of the Prisons and Correctional Day, commemorated on Saturday.

“I am not limiting my shows, I am performing every week. It’s just that there is less noise now,” she said.

“I no longer want to create drama.

“I simply want to focus on my performances. But if something happens, and there is drama, I will speak out.

“These days, I tend to remain quiet about certain issues.”

Known affectionately as Bev by her legion of fans, she said she is now always busy with her work and has no time for controversy. “I am not limiting my shows, we are booked every week. My focus has shifted to my character. I won’t be anywhere unless I have shows.

“It’s less noise now but if I want to create a stir, I will. For now, I am keeping a low profile.”
