Beverly Sibanda scoops award

RAUNCHY dancer Beverly Sibanda has scooped the Dancers Association of Zimbabwe Best Dressed Female Artist award.

Bev, who was crowned the winner at the event held at City Sports Bar last week, said her profession has opened doors for her.

“I want to start by thanking Dancers Association of Zimbabwe.

“I am honoured to be the most decorated female artist in Zimbabwean history having started a decade ago.

“I remember when we started people thought we were being mischievous tichiita wainzi musikanzwa asi tichida kuwana chekudya, ndikoko kubasa.”

She said she had to either embrace her talent or suffer forever.

“It was either dancing in clubs or kurara nenzara mustreet.

“I have grown over the years and learnt a lot about myself.

“Now, a lot of people approach me because they have noticed that the rumours they heard about me are not true.

“I am just a dancer,” she said.

She thanked her group, Sexy Angels, for their support.

The group won the best dance group of the year award, most consistent dance group gong and best dressed group award.

“Thank you to everyone who supports me and defends me muma streets, I learnt to choose peace a long time ago,” she said.
