With an estimated net worth of US$750 million between herself and husband Jay Z, Beyoncé is accustomed to a certain kind of lifestyle.
So when she goes on the road or to work, it seems the singer expects nothing less. The 32-year-old somewhat diva-ish demands for her rider and dressing room during a recent video shoot have now been revealed.
While some of the songstress’s stipulations were to be expected, including baby-proofing for her 21-month-old baby Blue Ivy, others on the list can only be described as extravagant.
“Beyoncé asked that her dressing room not only be completely baby-proofed, but that it be furnished in all white,” a source told InTouch magazine.
“She requested a large second room with a massive vanity and stage lighting so that her hair and makeup team could make her look her best.”
“(She also asked for) all of her food be served on a crisp white tablecloth.”
To ensure a certain level of comfort fit for a Grammy Award-winning star, Beyoncé also demanded that the temperature remained at a warm level.
The mother-of-one also required that her dressing room smelt a certain way, asking for Jo Malone candles or comparable grapefruit candles to be on hand.
Surprisingly, basic items also popped up on the list, including “two bars of Irish Spring soap” which retail for around US$2,79 a bar at Walgreens.
While Beyoncé’s requirements are somewhat lavish, they hardly compare to the demands for her Mrs Carter World Tour, earlier this year.
Her mandate included alkaline water, new toilet seats and bizarrely red toilet paper, according to reports.
Beyoncé also requested that all her crew members wore 100 percent cotton, her water to be chilled to 21 degrees and served through US$900 titanium straws and access to hand-carved ice balls after every show to cool her throat, The Daily Star claimed.
At the time, a spokesperson for the singer refused to comment on the claims.
Earlier this year, it was also claimed that the singer demanded the largest changing rooms at London’s O2 arena, space which is usually reserved for sports teams.
Despite being the first performer to be offered the use of the O2’s newly refurbished rooms, she opted for the larger set which are in a quieter part of the arena.
“The new dressing rooms are superb — it’s like you’ve stepped into a luxury apartment. But she surprised everyone by turning them down, going for the larger ones that are used by sports teams when they play at the 02,” revealed a source at the time. — Daily Mail.
