Local followers of the reality show Big Brother Stargame have set up a campaign called “Operation Taneta naManeta”, calling for the eviction of Maneta, the Zimbabwean representative, over her alleged unpatriotic remarks.
The campaign, Operation Taneta naManeta — Send Maneta Home, is on the Facebook page called Zimba Nice.
Many are now calling for her eviction from the reality show saying she was an embarrassment to the nation and as such she could not represent a country that she abhors.
Maneta is alleged to have denigrated Zimbabweans labelling them illiterate, and also accused them of being everywhere across the world.
She allegedly said there were no modelling agencies in Zimbabwe and that she did not want to stay in Zimbabwe and wishes to relocate to South Africa
“I think she must be voted out and stop representing a country she isn’t proud of,” posted Cindy La Roki Malinga.
Others posted that it was unpardonable for one to wash their dirty linen in public and she could have taken a cue from other people like Vimbai Mutinhiri and Wendall Parson who represented the country well.
Only a few people were of the opinion that people should not vote her out, but stick with team Zimbabwe so that chances of winning the $300 000 at stake gets higher. Maneta is in Upville with Roki and their relationship is nothing but rocky.
“Zim keep it low lest we risk losing both. Remain united. It’s too early to send Maneta home she is indeed strategic for Roki and Zim in the house. It’s too early to send Maneta home,” said Living-Stlylez Kaz Chits.
Rangarirayi Exaverio Chikwene said the girl was supposed to be sent home so that the image of the country could be protected.
Maneta seemed to be losing support not only from her countrymen but followers of the show with some administrators of her Facebook fan page, Big Brother Stargame Maneta, resigning.
Her habit of continually decampaigning Roki by saying nasty stuff about him to other housemates and viewers of the show disappointed her administrators who were rallying behind her.
One of the administrators wrote:
“I relieve myself from being an administrator for Maneta. I can’t stand her sentiments about Roki. It was nice while it lasted, but I can’t do it anymore.”
Another Maneta administrator wrote:
“I am also throwing in the towel. I am with immediate effect no longer associated with Maneta. It was good while it lasted. Patience DJ signing out.”
