Bikita gives Brigadier-General Rungani a befitting send-off

Scores of people today thronged the Rungani homestead near Nyika Growth Point in Bikita to give national hero Brigadier-General (Rtd) Victor Rungani a befitting send-off.

The late national hero’s body arrived at Gwindingwi High School grounds around 10 am aboard an Air Force of Zimbabwe helicopter before it was taken to his homestead.

Accompanying the body was the late hero’s widow, Cde Annah Rungani.

Senior Government and Zanu PF officials, led by Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira, Zanu PF politburo member, Lieutenant General (Rtd) Engelbert Rugeje, Masvingo War Veterans League provincial chair, Major General (Rtd) Gibson Mashingaidze and Zanu PF Masvingo provincial chair, Cde Rabson Mavhenyengwa, welcomed the body.

Various speakers described the late national hero as a true son of the soil who was dedicated to Zimbabwe’s full emancipation.

The late hero’s body was flown back to Harare around 2 pm.
