BIKITA Minerals completed a remarkable double over CAPS United with a 2-1 victory in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Gibbo yesterday.
Goals from Tadiwanashe Murasiramwa (34th minute) and Spence Mugariri (52nd minute) were enough for Bikita Minerals to end their losing streak while CAPS United had equalised in the first half through Nyasha Chintuli (40th minute).
With the result, Bikita Minerals joined CAPS United on 28 points from 24 games with the Harare giants 10th by virtue of superior goal difference.
Both CAPS United and Bikita Minerals are however, just three points above Triangle who occupy the final relegation slot.
Bikita Minerals, who stunned CAPS United 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Rufaro, were playing their third successive match at Gibbo where the previous two matches had ended in defeat against Scottland (0-1) and Triangle (0-3).
At Barbourfields, Highlanders needed a late equaliser from Reason Sibanda, who came on in the 46th minute for Prince Ndlovu, to share spoils with former champions, Ngezi Platinum Stars.
The visitors had taken the lead after 25 minutes through Tinashe Mavhudzi.
24 matches while Highlanders stay ninth with 29 points from 24 matches, just four above relegation zone.
At Rufaro, Herentals beat bottom-placed Kwekwe United 3-1 to move into sixth place with 38 points while relegation favourites and newcomers have nine points from 24 matches and destined for Division One.
