BILL SOLD FOR PEANUTS

Sports Reporter

BILL Antonio, one of the brightest prospects in Zimbabwean football today, was sold for just $10 000 euros.

This means that Peter Ndlovu, the greatest Warrior in history, was sold for more, 31 years ago, than Billy The Kid.

The Flying Elephant was traded for £10 000, which is about 11 634 euros today, when he left Highlanders for Coventry City, in 1991.

Antonio, who turned 20 in September this year, moved from Dynamos to Belgian Jupiler Pro League side Yellow-Red KV Mechelen.

The Glamour Boys are yet to receive a cent from the transfer, which was done through a third party, the academy which owned his signature.

H-Metro is now in possession of the contract.

“We, Yellow-Red KV Mechelen (KVM) would like to confirm our intention to make an offer to acquire the permanent registration as from August 30, 2022, of the Player (Bill Antonio) under the proposed terms as set below:

• A fixed transfer fee 10 000 euro (ten thousand euro) excluding VAT, if applicable, payable within 40 days after receipt of the ITC by KVM.

• In addition to the fixed transfer fee:

• Conditional fee, at the moment the player achieves 10 kick-offs in Jupiler Pro League, 25 000 euro (twenty five thousand euro), excluding VAT if applicable, payable within 30 days after reaching the target.

• Conditional fee, at the moment the player achieves 30 kick-offs of the Jupiler Pro League, 25 000 euro (twenty five thousand euro) excluding VAT if applicable, payable within 30 days after the player reaches the target.

• Conditional fee, in case the option of employment contract is exorcised or the player’s contract is extended, 25 000 euro (twenty five thousand euro), excluding VAT if applicable.

• In the event the player shall be registered on a permanent basis with a third club in the future, then the club is entitled to 10 percent of the net added value (received transfer sum – all parts already paid by KVM + costs) actually received by KVM.

• All the above amounts include solidarity contribution and or training compensation in accordance with FIFA regulations.”
