IN a landmark ruling, a court has slammed the door shut on a 34-year-old serial robber’s life of crime, sentencing him to a whopping 60 years behind bars for a brazen string of violent heists that terrorised communities across Mashonaland Central.
The perpetrator committed the robberies, stealing cash, electronics and household items, while using a pistol and wooden stick to threaten and intimidate victims, targeting both homes and businesses, and coercing them into handing over their valuables.
In June 2024, Wiskey Tennis allegedly broke into a home in Greenhill, Bindura, where he purportedly threatened Lindiwe Kuzondishaya with a firearm and a wooden stick.
He robbed her of US$1 600.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said, “On 21 September 2024, he targeted Tafadzwa Ngwenya threatening her with the same weapons, stealing US$12 000, a plasma TV, an Hp laptop and a Huawei phone.”
Tennis extended his reign of terror to Concession, Chiweshe, Bindura, and nearby areas, leaving a trail of violence and fear in his wake.
