adminFORGOTTEN former Zifa Northern Region Division One outfit Bindura United have returned to the fold after they were promoted from Divison Two A.
The team was resuscitated last year after spending 11 years in the wilderness and managed to shake off the challenge of several other contenders to win the ticket to Division One convincingly.
Ishmael Jack, the club’s director, says gaining promotion into Division One was a good thing for the Bindura community who were being starved of some competitive football.
“We are very happy that we have managed to bring back Division One football to Bindura and the community is very supportive of us.
“We have managed to gain promotion after we went for 25 games without a defeat and the runners-up are 16 points adrift.
“Bindura was lacking competitive soccer since Mwana Africa was demoted from the Premier League and Division One and we are looking forward to some good performances when we go into the competitive Division One and hopefully we will give a good account of ourselves there,” Jack said.
The team use Chipadze for their home matches and they believe that they have what it takes to be in Division One. — Sports Reporter.
