AFTER being eliminated from the Yadah TV Knock-out Cup, Bindura United have now set their sights on the championships race in the World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league when the games resume tomorrow. They have a date against DStv Rangers at Chipadze and are hoping to bounce back to winning ways to keep their campaign in the league on track.
Bindura had high hopes going into the eight-team Yadah TV Knock-out Cup matches at the weekend, but they found the going tough as they were dismissed 0-2 by Ngezi Platinum at Trojan.
The Mashonaland Central team coach, John Wilo, said although they were disappointed by Sunday’s defeat, they now need to concentrate on tomorrow’s game.
“We lost 2-0 and were pained. We wanted to win the trophy for the province and for Bindura. However, we are now focusing on the league because normally it’s not our way but God’s way.
“We have been struggling because in the game of soccer sometimes you go up and sometimes you go down. We are experiencing some results we had not expected but I think we will bounce back to winning ways both on the field of play and in management,” said Wilo.
Bindura dropped two points last week when they played ZRP Morris at Chipadze in a mid-week fixture.
Wilo said he knows the task at hand as they prepare for tomorrow’s match and added that they need to go an extra mile to get the expected results.
“Our play has gone down and it is going to be an uphill task for us to go back to the winning ways. So we must work hard. We also endured some injuries on the midfield in yesterday’s (Sunday) game, so we really need to work hard,” said Wilo.
In other matches lined up for tomorrow Mushowani travel to Harare for their encounter against Seven Flames while pacesetters Gunners host ZRP Morris at Lafarge.
The log leaders have indicated that this is a must-win game for them after dropping points in their last game when they were held to a goalless draw by Karoi United at Chikangwe.
They now lead the race by just a point and a draw or a defeat might see second-placed Flame Lilly taking over the pole position if they beat Royal Classic at Tsungubvi.
