Binga community calls for inclusivity

Binga Football Academy founder Pride Ngwenya has called for different football stakeholders to join hands in uplifting marginalised areas in football development.

This comes after a Harare-based football academy, City Academy chipped in with a two-day training camp recently in Binga in conjunction with Binga Football Academy.

“As we are a growing soccer Academy from Binga we wish to learn and grow in the game hence we always organise these training camps to keep updated with modern football standards.

“We are looking forward to seeing us growing in the game and getting all the necessary support to see us promote the talents in our communities.

“We have seen Binga Football Academy competing at Dynamos Grand Challenge Cup in Harare, competing thrice at the biggest junior’s soccer tournament in the country in Mutare at the Amai Hondo Soccer Trust, competing in Bulawayo. “It is a big reflection to show that we are a work in progress and we are appealing for sponsorship and support as we are invited to an international tour of Zambia where we are going to play some European teams. “We wish we had scouts coming our way as we believe our boys will even make the grade for the national team. Ngwenya said he is grateful for the job done by City Academy to uplift academies from peripheral areas.

“City Academy has been travelling the country trying to promote rural talents. This is the second time they have shown their dedication to this cause.

“They have been doing this out of good faith, for which we are forever grateful as Binga Football Academy.

“City Academy provided us with the equipment to use for the training camp and it was something special to us to have training sessions with more than 50 balls, cons, etc.

“We have seen school drop-outs getting back to school and this has also motivated the kids around to like the sport and give their all as they wish to even play for junior national teams.

“On their first visit, they invited three boys for soccer development in Harare which is something so special to us.

The event was graced by former Hwange coaches Nation Dube, Never Munkuli and former Hwange goalkeeper Leon Mwale.
