Bishop hides son for two years

A Zion Sabbath Christian Church bishop in Chimanimani is under fire for hiding his paraplegic son in a locked room for two years, while also denying him basic necessities like food, water, clothing and medical care.

Joseph Nemaramba (21) was found in a deplorable state — malnourished, dirty and with wounds all over his body — in a room that he was kept captive by his father, Namatai Nemaramba.

The Manica Post reports that Joseph was rescued from his father’s captivity after his aunty Susan Mukocheya Nemaramba tipped off acting Chief Saurombe.

Before his disappearance, Joseph was bedridden but now he is learning to walk.

The family had assumed Joseph had died and was secretly buried by his father since he wasn’t allowed to have visitors or enjoy fresh air – The Manica Post
